  • Redmond's humane society is feeling a financial pinch, after two large expansion projects were completed but an expected estate donation has been slow in coming through. Services may have to be curtailed in the near future, according to director Jamie Kanski, unless donations rise or the real estate donation is sold.
  • The city is hoping to fully adopt newly crafted standards for downtown design and development by early 2008 but a few hurdles remain. The two advisory groups assisting the Urban Renewal Board are still debating the merits of two key issues -- the percentage of windows in ground floor buildings, and the maximum height allowed in the downtown zone.
