  • According to recent estimates Redmond is now Oregon's 19th largest city. The green signs are already up on the edges of town, proclaiming Redmond as the home of 24,805 people.
  • The vote was not unanimous but the old St. Thomas Catholic church can now entice potential developers with its new status as a limited commercial use basis. Redmond's City Council voted 4-2 to give the church site -- nearly a whole city block -- a newly crafted zone that would potentially make it both marketable to buyers and compatible with its surrounding residential neighbors.
  • Redmond High School is offering a $500 reward for information regarding a burglary of technology equipment from one of its portable classrooms. Digital projectors, laptops, and a document scanner were stolen in late November. All should be clearly marked as property of the school.
