Rupert Edmund Park

Rupert Edmund Park, 91, passed away on February 23, 2009, in Salem.
He was born September 11, 1917, in Oregon City. He graduated from Salem High School, the University of Oregon, Willamette Law School, Judge Adjutant General School, and he retired
as a colonel in the U.S. Army, having served in WWII in the European Theater, 5th Armored Division, under General Patton.
Rupert worked as a city attorney in Redmond; Judge Pro Tem District Court; and as an administrative law judge on the Oregon State Employee Relations Board.He married Marjorie Mae Whittington on March 23, 1943 in Asbury Park, N.J., He attended Salem Evangelical Church and was active as a founding board member of Central Oregon Community College, a volunteer fireman in Redmond, church work and witness trips, as well as the Old Roots Club (Willamette Law School alumni). Rupert was honored with the Willamette University Law School Pro Bono Award.
Rupert is survived by his wife, Marjorie; children, Rudy Park III (Cheryl) of Reno, Nev.; Mike Park (Phyllis) of Alamo, Caflif.; Leslie Penhollow ( Jim) of Vancouver, Wash.; Bill Park (Linda) of
Redmond, and Kathy Wilson (Tom) of Salem; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
A memorial service was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 28 at Salem Evangelical Church, Salem. Burial will be at Willamette National Cemetary. Memorial donations may be
made to Union Gospel Mission, 345 Commercial St. NE, Salem, OR 97301. Arrangements by Keizer Funeral Chapel.
