Lawrence William Fisher
July 13, 1930 – June 19, 2009
Lawrence W. Fisher died peacefully on June 19th. He was born July 13, 1930, in Portland, Oregon to Clarke and Helen May Fisher.
Larry graduated from Beaverton High School, and then Lewis & Clark College.
Lawrence served in the Army Signal Corps in Korea 1950-1953. Larry worked for Willamette Industries, then was an insurance agent 20 years before retirement.
Larry was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Joyce and great-granddaughter, Amber. He is survived by his sister, Linda Smull; and family stepchildren, Lorrie Fisher, Randy Davis; and granddaughter, Christy Wilson; and neighbors, Bootie and Darrell Brill.
Larry also loved his church family at Community Presbyterian Church.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 13, at Community Presbyterian Church, 529 NW 19th Street, Redmond.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Community Presbyterian Church or St. Charles Medical Center Cancer Treatment Unit, 2100 NE Wyatt Court, Bend.

Archie Ball Hamby
Oct. 10 1928 – June 11, 2009
Archie Ball Hamby, twenty-three year resident of Redmond, passed away at St. Charles in Bend, June 11, 2009. Archie was born Oct. 10, 1928, to Joseph and Ozel (Guthrie) Hamby in Copperhill, Tenn.
At 18, he moved to California and worked for Southern Pacific Railroad and pursued a career in engineering.
He worked for the federal government at the Veteran’s Hospital in Palo Alto, Calif.
After retiring in 1987, he moved to Redmond, Ore. where he was very involved in many philanthropic organizations. He was a member of the Redmond Masonic Lodge #154 AFNAM, York Rite, Scottish Rite, Al Kader Shrine, Central Oregon Shrine Club, Eastern Star and Amaranth; Oddfellows, Rebekahs, Elks, Eagles and Moose. He also belonged to the American Legion and National Association of Retired Federal Employees. In addition to these organizations, Archie also enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Archie is survived by his daughter, Shirley, and her husband Pete Risher; two grandchildren, Joseph and Joanne of Salinas, Calif.; a sister, Faye Hamby of Atlanta, Ga. and her children, Charlotte and Joyce; his brother, Herman Hamby, preceded him in death; Herman’s wife, Willielee, and their children, Lon, Marian and Salina of South Carolina and other nieces; his companion of 14 years, Marilyn Blume of Redmond, and her family, Barbara and Ken Larsen of Eugene, Ore. and Dan and Molly Blume and their son Dane, all of Redmond; Duffy and Ellen Blume of Anchorage, AK and their two children Marjorie and Lon, Dale and Lisa Scheuring of Iowa and their four children.
There was a memorial service June 18, 2009 at the Masonic Center, 627 SW 7th Street, Redmond, Ore. at 11 a.m.
Donations may be made to Shriner’s Children’s Hospital, 3101 SW Sam Jackson Road, Portland, Ore. 97239.
