Lyman Lyle Falk

Lyman Lyle Falk went to be with his Lord on February 22, 2010. Services were held at Powell Butte Christian Church on Thursday, February 25, 2010 at 1:30 p.m.
Lyman Lyle Falk was born February 15, 1920 in Halsey, Oregon to parents,
Charles Ludwig and Elizabeth A. (Forrester) Falk. This photo was taken on his 90th birthday. He married Margaret J. Doxsee on January 3, 1942, making a marriage of 68 years. They farmed together at Junction City, Oregon until purchasing a ranch and moving to the Alfalfa Oregon community in 1951. They lived at the ranch until retirement age, moving to Redmond, Oregon in 1977, where he resided until his death. He also worked for various farmers in Powell Butte, Oregon.
He started college with plans to do engineering, but stopped because of WWII. He liked all sports, but especially enjoyed playing baseball on the college team. His grandchildren remember him ice skating with them after retirement. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, but especially fishing after he moved off the ranch. He could repair almost anything and took pride in doing it. He was very patriotic and kept informed on government affairs. His love for the Lord grew in his final years.
His children include Charlotte Bass (Sam), Dail Hacker (Larry), Brett Falk (Debbie), Loette Wallace (Tom). His grandchildren are Micheal Bass, Helen Bateman, Phillip Hacker, Neva Allen, Michelle Wallace, Naomi Deevers, Jerry and Dusty Wallace, Chelsea and Dakota Falk and 13 great- grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Les and Omar, and one sister, Lila Turrell. He is survived by three sisters, Doris Isom (Wade), Treva Yada (Brian), and Vonda Fox (John).

Harry Hazelton Kem, Jr.
Oct. 18, 1924 - Feb. 11, 2010
Harry Kem passed away peacefully at his home in Redmond, OR, surrounded by family and friends.
Born in Los Angeles, he served in the Air Force as a fighter pilot and was a U.C. Davis graduate in Animal Sciences.
His early professional years were spent as a cattleman, rancher and horseman. He started the Oregon Quarter Horse Association, of which he was the first president. In later years, Harry loved exploring places off the beaten tourist track and would take long, meandering paths in pursuit of these adventures. He was a voracious reader of current events and history, had an eye for real estate and artwork and enjoyed woodworking, sailing, fly fishing and hunting. His greatest passion was flying and one of his enriching talents was his ability to develop long and loyal friendships. Harry was a philanthropist.
Harry is survived by his wife, Dean, five children, one adopted daughter, two grandsons and one great-granddaughter.

Harold 'Peanut' R. Wareing

Harold R. "Peanut" Wareing of Redmond, died on Wednesday Feb. 24, 2010, at the age of 65 years. Harold was born in Portland, OR. on December 02, 1944, to parents, Donald and Mary (Meigs) Wareing.
He had lived in Redmond since he was a year old and attended Redmond Schools. He had a lot of friends and was a member of a pool league for a long time. He was also very artistic.
Harold leaves behind one daughter, Holly Sullanger of Sheridan, OR; six sisters, Jeannine Johnson of Austin, TX, Norma Faddis of Tumalo, OR, Helen Ball, Joyce Bawter, Eunice Coyner and Nancy Tanler all of Redmond, OR.
There are several grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Private family graveside services were held at Redmond Memorial Cemetery. Please visit the website at to send condolences to family.
