A. Irene Paquette Spaulding
February 19, 1926 - June 4, 2010
Irene Spaulding of Redmond, died on Friday, June 4, 2010, following a lengthy illness. She was born February 19, 1926, in Salida, Colorado, to
parents, Walter and Veronica (Harrington) Paquette. Irene graduated from the University of Colorado with a degree in teaching. She moved to Oregon in 1953, and first taught P.E. in Lakeview, then Prineville High School. Following there, she taught in Redmond, Terrebonne and Tumalo.
On June 7, 1955, she married William "Bill" Spaulding in Salida, Colo. Irene was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church in Redmond. She volunteered with St. Charles Hospital Auxillary of Redmond, and drove for Meals on Wheels. She was a member of Retired Teachers, and Ladies of The Greens. She loved playing golf and knitting but especially being a part of any and all activities of her grandchildren, being rodeos, ball games, she was there. Irene leaves behind one son, Jerry Spaulding of Juneau, Alaska; two daughters, Debbie Rogers of Redmond, Cindie and husband, Kevin King of Moro, Ore.; one brother, Walter Paquette of Ft. Worth, Texas; five grandchildren, Lacey, Tiffany, Brent, Kati, and Hunter; and four great-grandchildren, Lilly, Kaidance, Mason and Madison.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1996.
There will be a funeral Mass at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Redmond on Friday, June 11, 2010 at 1:30 with burial to follow at Redmond Memorial Cemetery.

Ross Everett Curry
Oct. 13, 1925 - May 30, 2010

Ross E. Curry, 84 years, died of natural causes at his home.
Ross, was born in Sidney, Ontario, Canada, to Samuel and Elizabeth Weese Curry. He moved to Powell Butte, Ore., with his family in 1972. He had been a general contractor in home construction.
On November 27, 1987, he married Kay Mishey; they enjoyed their retirement years in Powell Butte and spending winters in Arizona. Following Kay’s death he moved to Redmond.
He loved Old Tyme Fiddlers, feeding the ducks daily with his companion, Pat, going out for drives, gardening, being with his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Vernon, Gerald and Norman; two sisters, Lena and Letha; and his wife, Kay.
Surviving are son, Daren (Pam) Curry of Powell Butte; daughter, Theresa (Ed) Harrod of Kennwick, Wash.; stepdaughter, Susan (Dave) Johnson of San Francisco, Calif.; sister, Marjorie Sherwin of Ontario, Canada; and grandkids, Garret and Sammi Curry and Jordan Flores; and companion Pat McAndie.
Celebration of Life service was held June 5 at the Deschutes Memorial Mausoleum.

Esther M. Bidner Walker
July 15, 1918 - May 31, 2010

Esther M. Walker died on Monday, May 31, 2010, at her residence in Redmond. She was born July 15, 1918, in Peoria, Ill. to parents, Arthur
and Alice (Slabaugh) Bidner.
She was united in marriage to Thomas M. Walker on June 2, 1939, in Peoria, Ill. He preceded her in death, as did three sisters.
Esther has lived in Redmond for the past 25 years coming from Hemet, Calif.
She attended the Community Presbyterian Church and participated in quilt making groups. She also enjoyed painting, ceramics, knitting, reading and dancing.
Esther leaves behind daughter, Mary Lantz and husband, Mike of Redmond; sons, Tom and wife, Marvel Walker of Portland, and Ken and wife, Jan Walker of San Diego, Calif. There are six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held on Sat., June 12, 2010, at 4:00 p.m., at Redmond Memorial Chapel.
