George Edwin ‘Ted’ Hall, Sr.
April 20, 1922 - June 25, 2013
George Edwin Hall, Sr., born April 20, 1922 in Prairie City, Oregon, to George and Ruth (Olp) Hall, passed away June 25, 2013, at his home in Terrebonne, Oregon. Ted grew up on the Hall family ranch  just west of Prairie City.  He joined the Navy in 1945, serving in the SeaBees as Shore Patrol in the Philippine Islands at the end of World War II.  After his discharge, he returned to Prairie City where he met Betty Jane Pearcey, the love of his life.  They were married on September 25, 1947.  They had four children, Sharon, Jane, Vickie and George, Jr. Ted worked on the ranch until they sold out in 1959. In 1962, he bought a dairy farm in Culver, Oregon.  In 1965, he sold the dairy and bought a complex of apartments in Madras, Oregon.  He moved to Terrebonne, Oregon in 1973. He drove a milk tanker for the Co-op in Central Oregon, taking milk and cream to Darigold in the valley.  He then worked for Alvin Crocker farms in Culver.  He continued working for the Crockers until he was 77 years old.
Ted was a devout Christian and as a young man received assurance from God that “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” It was that promise that kept him going through his entire life.
He is survived by his wife, Betty; daughters, Sharon Thissell, Jane Binder-Homer, Vickie and Lloyd Murders; son, George, Jr.; 15 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, 9 great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Ruth; sisters, Louise Mills, Ivarine Oliver; his brother, Bob Hall; and sons-in-law, Ronnie Thissell, Steve Binder and Jake Homer.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 2, 2013, at the Pioneer Cemetery in Terrebonne, Oregon.
