Jerry M. Cooper Sr.

Long time Redmond resident Jerry M. Cooper Sr. passed away peacefully January 5, 2014.
Jerry was born in Tacoma, Wash., June 27, 1949. He graduated from Luther Burbank High in Sacramento, Calif. Jerry brought his family to Bend, Ore., in 1975 and to Redmond in 1981, the very place the family still calls “home”.
Jerry was preceded in death by his father, Arthur O. Cooper; brothers, Joe and David; and sister, Kathy. He was also preceded in death by his youngest son, B.J. Cooper.
He is survived by his wife, Sue Cooper; beloved mother, Leora May Cooper of Sacramento, Calif.; siblings, Linda Taylor of Fair Oaks, Calif., Steve Cooper of Sacramento, Calif., Brenda Cooper of Sacramento, Calif., and Kevin Cooper of Gresham, Ore.; his sons, Jerry M. Cooper Jr. of Vancouver, Wash., and Jimmy Cooper of Bessemer, Penn.; seven grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
Jerry enjoyed all aspects of racing from building cars to spending as much time at it as he could. He was also an avid NASCAR fan.
In recent years he moved to Vancouver, Wash., to be closer to his son, Jerry. They enjoyed many hours of planning for the “next big race.”

On January 11, 2014 the world lost an incredible woman, Diane Ester Rogers Cable.
Diane was born May 1, 1947, in Tacoma Washington, to Leonard and Edna Rogers.
Diane was preceded in death by her parents, and spouse, Conward Lamar Cable. She is survived by her son and wife, Jessee and Shawna Cable, her two grandchildren, Dustin and Austin Cable, her siblings, David and wife, Gail Rodgers, their family, and Jon Rogers and his children.
The memorial service will be held at the Redmond Senior Center on Light refreshments will be provided. All friends and family are invited.
