Aug. 16, 1960 - Jan. 11, 2014
Margie was born in Redmond Oregon August 16, 1960, to Disidoro P. and Maria G. Salinas.  She passed away January 11, 2014 at the age of 53.
Margie graduated from Redmond High School and worked at the Opportunity Thrift Store in Redmond until her passing. She was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church.
Her hobbies included reading, watching TV classics, word search books, collecting anything electronic and batteries to run them, camping, bingo, latch hook weaving, karaoke,  playing the harmonica, going to all the Redmond Parades and Deschutes County Fair each year,  spending time with friends, loving her family, and most of all -- entertaining everyone with her dancing.
She is survived by her mother, Maria Salinas, age 90; eight sisters and four brothers, Ofilia (James) Boyd, Olivia Cortez, Erlinda (Manuel) Galan, Magdalena (Gayle) Kirkpatrick, Consuelo (Steve) Derrickson, Francisca (Tom) Clason, Antonio (wife, Gale), Tomas Salinas,  Angelita Salinas, Benito (wife, Tammy),  Jesus Salinas, and Amelia Nunez.  Margie leaves behind 130 close family members.  Her father, Disidoro (Dee) Salinas preceded her in death in 1990.
Contributions can be made to the Opportunity Foundation in Redmond on her behalf.
A Rosary will be held 7:00 p.m. Friday January 24, and viewing is from 6:00-9:00 p.m. at Redmond Memorial Chapel.  Church service will be held 9:00 a.m.  Saturday, January 25 at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Redmond, followed by burial at Redmond Memorial Gardens at 10:30. Wearing pink is encouraged, as that was Margie's favorite color.
'She lit up every room.  She taught us to appreciate the simple things in life and, to ALWAYS dance like no one was watching'.
