Color guard chair discusses her horse

Peggy Sweet, chair of VFW Post 4108's mounted color guard, discusses training her 9-year-old Andalusian pure Spanish horse Princess Riri in the below video. Sweet hopes to use the horse in the color guard, but isn't sure if Princess Riri will be ready.
This week's Spokesman features an update on the color guard, as well as two retired horses that Central Oregon residents are looking to adopt from Arlington National Cemetery. The Spokesman did a story on the horses in January, and The Washington Post wrote about them in February. That story can be seen here: www.washingtonpost.com/local/free-to-a-good-home-horses-who-have-served-their-country/2016/02/21/3de74d3a-d4f6-11e5-9823-02b905009f99_story.html.

An event featuring the mounted color guard is planned for Saturday at the post. People can also donate to help raise money for uniforms and equipment for the color guard at www.gofundme.com/Vfw4108MCG.
