Redmond residents arrested in connection with stolen minivan, guns

From the Deschutes County Sheriff's Office:

Occurred: March 21st, 2016 

Location: SW Mesa Way, Redmond 

Arrested: 13 year old Juvenile Male 
Redmond, Oregon 


Charges: Burglary I 
Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle 


Arrested: Donovan, Lori Christina 34 years of age 
Redmond, Oregon 

Copeland, Dwayne Allen 53 years of age 
Redmond, Oregon 

Tischler, Cassandra Lynne 48 years of age 


Charges: Felon in Possession of a Firearm 
Theft I 

On March 21st 2016, deputies with the Deschutes County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to investigate a residential burglary on SW Mesa Way in Redmond. A resident reported numerous firearms along with a 1997 Dodge Caravan had been stolen. The vehicle was located in the city of Redmond by the Redmond Police Department on March 22nd, 2016. 

Over the course of the next week, detectives with the Deschutes County Sheriff's Office Street Crimes Unit, continued the investigation which lead to the arrest of a 13 year old juvenile male from Redmond for the burglary and theft of the Dodge Caravan. The juvenile was booked into the Deschutes County Juvenile Community Justice Facility for Burglary in the First Degree and Unauthorized use of a Motor Vehicle. It is believed there was a second juvenile, male, suspect involved in the burglary who has not been located. 

After the firearms were stolen they were sold in the Redmond area. Through the course of this investigation some of the stolen firearms have been recovered. Tischler and Copeland were arrested and booked into the Deschutes County Adult Jail on Felon in Possession of a firearm and Theft in the First Degree. Donovan was cited in lieu of custody for Felon in Possession of a Firearm and Theft in First Degree. 

The Deschutes County Sheriff's Office Street Crimes Unit was assisted in this investigation by the Redmond Police Department and the Central Oregon Drug Enforcement team (CODE). This investigation is ongoing.
