Benefit golf tournament sees nearly double attendance from last year
The benefit tournament for Redmond Habitat for Humanity and Jericho Road was an unqualified success. The number of players increased to 103, up from the 66 who played last year. The number of sponsors and participation in the raffled and silent auction increased as well. The Second Annual Benefit Golf Tournament was a joint effort of the two non-profits to create a great day of golf to help support efforts to assist those in need.
The four-player scramble took place on the Ridge Course at Eagle Crest which began after an early morning continental breakfast. The featured prize was a donated 2017 Chevy Camaro from Gary Gruner Chevrolet for a Hole-In-One (Unfortunately there were no winners). At the end, there was a fine BBQ provided by Redmond’s MacDonald’s complete with strawberry shortcake while several other prizes, auction and raffle items were presented to lucky players. Prizes were awarded to division winning teams, for long drives and KPs.
The tournament coordinators estimate that the net proceeds will be near $15,000 to be shared by Redmond Habitat and Jericho Road. These funds will help support affordable housing projects, critical repair programs, hot meals for the hungry, weekend food packs for students and housing and rental assistance. Redmond Habitat and Jericho Road wish to thank all who supported and participated in this wonderful event.
Plans are already underway for the 3rd Annual Tournament next June. Plan to join us in supporting the Redmond Community.
