Medline ReNewal Opens New 50,000 Square Foot Facility in Redmond
Medline ReNewal, a subsidiary of Medline, a global medical supplies company, is opening a new 50,000 square foot building in Redmond that will focus on medical device reprocessing. After the purchase of Medissis in 2012,we became one of the largest employers in the local market and outgrew the space. This created an opportunity to expand and open a larger facility.
Hospitals produce nearly 5 million tons of waste annually. Under continuing financial pressures, they’re focusing on sustainability to reduce costs. Reprocessing ensures “single-use” devices are properly disinfected and sterilized in order to be safely reused. It reduces medical waste and helps facilities save on the cost of new device purchases, which can then be applied to enhancing patient care.
