Crooked River Ranch fire update

Type of incident: Wildland Urban Interface Fire

Address of incident: 12250 NW Dove Rd, Crooked River Ranch, Oregon

Incident date: July 5, 2017 Alarm Time: 6:08 PM

Circumstances found on arrival, actions taken: Crews arrived to find a fast moving, wind driven, brush fire threatening multiple residences along NW Mesa Ln and NW Dove Rd. Initial attack units were able to contain the fire before it reached any structures and were assisted by mutual aid units in extinguishing the involved area. A Crooked River Ranch Fire & Rescue engine and tender remained on-scene until early morning mopping up hotspots and crews will be checking the fire area periodically over the next few days.

Injuries, rescues and other information of interest: A nearby resident was evaluated for smoke inhalation by a Crooked River Ranch Fire & Rescue ambulance crew.

Responding Apparatus: 8 - Engines, 3 – Tenders, 0 - Trucks, 1 - Medics, 2 – Support, 2 - Overhead

Responding Personnel: 19 – Career, 14 – Volunteers

Mutual aid assistance by: Redmond Fire & Rescue, Cloverdale Fire District, Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office, Oregon Department of Forestry, Bureau of Land Management, and United State Forest Service.

Probable fire cause: Under investigation.
