Whether you’re a “Horse of a Different Color” or “A Horse With No Name,” the Deschutes County Fair has you covered this year.
The fair, which runs Aug. 1 through 5, announced dates and headliners for its annual four free concerts, held at 7 p.m. (doors open at 5:30 p.m.) at the Bank of the Cascades Event Center on the fairgrounds in Redmond. The acts — split between classic rock and country, as usual — are:
Aug. 1 — America (classic soft-rockers)
Aug. 2 — Big & Rich (rockin’ country)
Aug. 3 — Grand Funk Railroad (classic blues-rock)
Aug. 4 — Gary Allan (country songwriter)
Admission is free with a concert pass and fair entrance fee — $12 per day for adults; $7 per day for children ages 6 to 12 or seniors ages 62 and older; and free for children ages 5 and younger. Season passes for all five days of the fair (Aug. 2 through 6) cost $22 for adults, $13 for children ages 6 to 12 and seniors, or free for children ages 5 and younger.
Concert passes are free and will be available through Bend Radio Group starting Thursday or The Bulletin’s booth at the Central Oregon Home & Garden Show at the Deschutes County Fair & Expo Center starting May 4. Passes are free for subscribers, and nonsubscribers may enter a drawing at the home show. For America and Grand Funk tickets, tune in to KQAK 105.7; for Big & Rich and Gary Allan tickets, keep checking KSJJ-102.9 FM.
Passes will be available at Central Oregon McDonald’s locations beginning July 4 and continuing every Wednesday from 2 to 7 p.m. until the first day of the fair or while tickets last.
