Male athlete of the week

Trevor McBride, Ridgeview track — The senior finished first in the 100 meters and had a personal best time of 23.03 seconds in winning the 200 meters at an April 11 meet against La Pine and Summit.

Female athlete of the week

Kiani Nakamura, Ridgeview softball — Nakamura went 2-for3 with two RBIs in a 23-0 victory against Bend April 13. The win completed a three-game sweep of the Lava Bears.

Game of the week

Boys tennis; Redmond 5, Grants Pass 3 — The April 14 victory completes a sweep in a Southern Oregon trip for the Panthers, who defeated Ashland a day earlier.

What to watch for

Track, Summit Invitational — Both Redmond and Ridgeview are scheduled to compete in the April 21 Bend meet, which features every Intermountain Conference team and many more.

Ridgeview shot 354 as a team to finish second, while Redmond (378) was fourth in the eight-team Summit Invitational at Broken Top. Sixth place Isaac Buerger (82) was the Ravens’ top finisher, while Redmond’s Hayden Perry (85) was 10th.

Ridgeview finished third in the five-team Crook County Invitational in Prineville with a score of 410. Bend shot 343 to win. Sage Schull was Ridgeview’s top individual finisher, shooting 94 to tie for sixth.
