July 4th fireworks

2016 4th of July fireworks display at the Deschutes County Fair and Expo Center.

The Fourth of July parade is on! On your porch or computer screen, that is.

The Redmond Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring a self-guided “patriotic porch parade” throughout Redmond from June 27-July 4. Participants can decorate their porch in lieu of a float and register their address to be included in the listing to be published by the chamber of commerce. Displays should be family friendly and not include political, religious or controversial themes.

For those who prefer a virtual parade experience, there is also a “mini parade” sponsored by St. Charles Health System. Participants in the mini-parade can decorate a shoebox as a float and take pictures or video to be presented in a livestream on July 4.
