New for 2020, the Redmond Northern Lights Festival is provided by the Redmond Chamber of Commerce and CVB.

“The idea came from encouragement of my parents to offer an animated light show similar to what is offered at the Christmas markets across Europe,” Eric Sande, executive director of the Redmond Chamber, wrote in an email.

Sande said the program was supposed to be tied to downtown events for Halloween, Christmas, Valentine’s Day and St. Patrick’s Day.

“However, with COVID, we had to rethink the event and moved it to City Hall, where there is plenty of room to social distance and to view the show,” Sande said.

Interested in the show? The Redmond Northern Lights Festival will be on this Friday and Saturday, 5-9 p.m., in front of Redmond City Hall, 411 SW 9th St.
