Redmond School District

The Redmond School District serves Redmond, Terrebonne, Tumalo, Eagle Crest, Alfalfa and Crooked River Ranch. The school district operates eight K-5 elementary schools, two middle schools and two comprehensive high schools. The school district also offers a K-12 online school program, which uses local learning coaches and academic mentors.

Redmond High School is home to a Marine Corps JROTC program and offers extensive vocational and technical classes, many of which simultaneously earn college credit through Central Oregon Community College. Redmond Proficiency Academy

An accredited public charter school for grades 6-12, RPA provides a more self-designed course of study or more challenging college preparatory curriculum with a flexible schedule. The school operates as part of the Redmond School District but with a separate board and administration. Grades 9-12 and a performing arts theater are located in its downtown campus. They also have a middle school building (150 SW 25th St.).

Alternative Schools

YouthBuild/Heart of Oregon Corps offers programs for ages 16-24 in the apprentice construction area, as well as opportunities to earn a diploma or GED: 541-633-7834; www.heartoforegon.org.

Private Schools

Central Christian Schools

A comprehensive preschool through high school since 1992, CCS is accredited by ACSI and AdvancED and provides education focused on Christian character formation and academic excellence. CCS is a member of the Oregon Schools Activities Association, offering soccer, basketball and volleyball to grades 9-12, as well as performing arts opportunities for students.

St. Thomas Academy

St. Thomas offers a Catholic-based education for grades preK-8 in alignment with Oregon’s Core Academic Standards and is accredited by the Northwest Accreditation Commission. The school is located adjacent to St. Thomas Catholic Church.

High Desert Montessori

Montessori method teaching curriculum offered at a private school for children six months to 12 years old. Teaching is focused on individualized understanding and practical application requirements in each subject instead of grades and tests.
