A large semitruck and trailer dealership is taking shape in northern Redmond.

TEC Equipment’s 27,000-square foot facility, located just north of Home Depot off Highway 97, will be the largest such dealership in Central Oregon, Drew Blevins, TEC Equipment vice president of marketing, said in an email. The dealership, which broke ground in October 2018, will offer new and used truck sales, featuring Mack and Volvo brands. It will also have Wabash trailer, a parts and service area, leasing, financing and insurance.

The dealership, which is scheduled to open in the fall, will include a state-of-the art parts showroom, 14 truck and trailer service bays, a 60-foot paint booth and full body shop, as well as driver amenities, Blevins said.

The Redmond TEC Equipment location will have 15 employees in its first year and grow to 25 workers within two years of opening, Blevins said.

The Redmond location will be TEC’s 28th dealership, all in the western United States. It is expected to complement TEC Equipment’s other Oregon stores in Portland, Wilsonville, Eugene and Medford.

“Our Redmond store represents an important milestone with this new location in Central Oregon to better serve our customers east of the Cascades,” TEC Equipment CEO David A. Thompson said in a statement.

The dealership will be located on 6.8 acres at 2475 NW Canal Blvd.

Thompson started TEC Equipment in 1976 out of a small building in Portland, according to the company’s website. The company’s slogan is “Your Best Business Partner.”

The website also said the company is looking to expand its footprint by pushing eastward.
