A Central Oregon children’s dental clinic recently opened a Redmond location.

Deschutes Pediatric Dentistry is open in the Coppertop Building at 3818 SW 21st Place Suite 102, near Applebees. According to a news release from broker Compass Commercial, the company is locally owned, with one other location in Bend. The office specializes in treating kids from infants to teens.

The office’s expansion from its first location on SW Chandler Avenue in Bend is intended to serve Redmond, as well as children in Jefferson and Crook counties.

“We wanted to improve their access to dental care while also limiting the extra driving time to Bend,” dentist Dr. Steve Christensen said in the statement.

Deschutes Pediatric Dentistry’s three dentists, including Christiansen and his wife, Dr. Stephanie Christensen, as well as hygienists and staff, will rotate between the two locations, allowing patients to have the same care they do in Bend.

The Christensens are both graduates of Oregon Health Sciences University, while Dr. Ashley Swan received her dental degree from Tufts University in Boston.

The company is leasing a 3,519 square-foot medical suite in the Coppertop Building, which is visible from South Highway 97. According to the news release, Bruce Churchill and Dan Kemp represented landlord Spencer Bros. LLC in the transaction, while Ron Ross and Terry O’Neil represented the dental clinic.

“I appreciated the time and consideration Compass Commercial Real Estate took to help with this expansion,” Steve Christensen added. “Compass cared about my needs. They listened to me and my expectations and did the best to accommodate the expectations I had for my practice. Everyone that I worked with was kind and cooperative. Compass provided me with what I wanted, not what they wanted.”
