Redmond followed a snowy February with the coldest March on record, according to a monthly climate summary from the National Weather Service.

The good news is April is expected to be warmer than normal. Officials say the average April high temperature increases from 57 degrees at the start of the month to 63 degrees at the end. The normal April low rises from 28 to 32 degrees, with a 30-year normal precipitation of 0.73 inches.

In February, the average temperature of 34.4 degrees was lower than the previous record of 34.8 degrees in 1955, according to the weather service. High temperatures averaged 46.5 degrees, 7.3 degrees lower than normal, while the average low temperature this March was 22.4 degrees, 3.5 degrees below normal.

The March snowfall total of 2.8 inches was well below the 41.3 inches that fell in February. Total March precipitation was 0.59 inches, 0.07 inches below normal. Total precipitation so far in 2019 is 3.93 inches, 1.65 inches above normal.
