Redmond man arrested in Tumalo: A Redmond man with a statewide felony parole violation and a history of running from law enforcement was arrested July 12 after a manhunt around Tumalo, according to a Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office news release. Deputies received information that Ryan Nathaniel Fischer-Salt was seen in a bar in Tumalo after he allegedly fled from a traffic stop the night before, but found Fischer-Salt left the bar before they arrived, officials said. Two K-9 teams were used in the manhunt, which led to a lockdown at Cascade Academy’s summer camp and an alert going to area residents, before Fischer-Salt was seen crossing Highway 20 near the Old Bend-Redmond Highway, officials said. After he was surrounded, Fischer-Salt emerged from a hillside and crossed the Deschutes River to surrender to deputies, officials said. Fischer-Salt was previously arrested in 2017 after a chase in a car that was reported stolen, as well as after a 2016 chase in which Fischer-Salt was a passenger in a vehicle, according to archives. He was arrested in 2013 after an investigation into vandalism at the sheriff’s shooting range, as well as in 2010, when he was accused of running from police, according to archives.
