A 77-year-old Crooked River Ranch man suffered serious injuries in a July 4 one-car rollover crash, in which speeding and alcohol are suspected to be a contributing factors, according to a Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office news release.
Richard A. Millhouse allegedly lost control of the 1998 Pontiac Firebird he was driving in the 11900 block of NW 43rd Street and collided with a rock embankment, officials said. The car rolled onto its top, sustaining heavy damage, officials said. Millhouse, who is not believed to have been wearing a seatbelt, was freed from the vehicle and flown to St. Charles Bend with injuries considered serious but not life threatening, officials said.
The section of NW 43rd Street was closed for nearly two hours while the crash was investigated. Along with deputies from Deschutes and Jefferson counties, Redmond Fire and the Oregon State Police also responded, officials said.
