Monthly temperatures at the Redmond airport

According to preliminary data received by NOAA's National Weather Service in Pendleton, temperatures at the Redmond airport averaged much warmer than normal during the month of November.

The average temperature was 44.0 degrees which was 6.7 degrees above normal. High Temperatures averaged 56.9 degrees, which was 8.0 degrees above normal. The highest was 69 degrees on Nov. 14. Low temperatures averaged 31.2 degrees, which was 5.4 degrees above normal. The lowest was 16 degrees, on Nov. 17.

There were 17 days with the low temperature below 32 degrees.

Precipitation totaled 1.20 inches during November, which was 0.24 inches above normal. Measurable precipitation -at least .01 inch- was received on 9 days with the heaviest, 0.65 inches reported on Nov. 11.

Precipitation this year has reached 5.49 inches, which is 2.23 inches below normal. Since October, the water year precipitation at the Redmond airport has been 2.04 inches, which is 0.43 inches above normal.

The highest wind gust was 44 mph which occurred on Nov. 8.

The outlook for December from NOAA's Climate Prediction Center calls for near normal temperatures and above normal precipitation. Normal highs for the Redmond airport fall from 43.0 degrees at the start of December to 40.0 degrees at the end of December. Normal lows fall from 22.0 degrees to 21.0 degrees. The 30 year normal precipitation is 1.16 inches.

This was the 4th warmest November on record. The warmest was 46.9 degrees in 1999.
