Redmond Economic Development, Inc. is calling for nominations for its annual Thrive Award.
Launched in 2021, the Thrive Award aims to recognize and award significant initiatives, programs, projects, or partnerships when successfully implemented noticeably change the landscape which further supports economic development in the Redmond Community.
REDI wants to publicly recognize individuals, partnerships or organizations who contribute to building the community through collaborations which support economic development. Thus, the Thrive Award.
The criteria for the award are as follows:
— Implementation of economic benefit to the community (such as jobs, tax base, education or workforce development, childcare, business assistance programs, or tablesetting which enables future economic development success)
— Spin‐off impact of the project, including any community domino effect or continuing impact, planned or unplanned. A ripple effect.
— Creativity, innovation, or originality such as: packaging land acquisitions, strategic partnerships, joint venture aspects, and financing
— Achievement of its stated objective with measurable results
— Development of strong relationships with relevant and widespread community support
— Relevance and transferability of elements to other communities
Last year’s winner was Redmond Rallies. This grassroots, behind‐the‐scenes effort was collaboration between the Redmond Chamber and The City of Redmond to support ailing businesses affected by the COVID‐19 pandemic. To keep Redmond open, Redmond Rallies aided businesses in filling out grant and federal funding requests, collectively called and talked with businesses across multiple sectors to assess needs and handed out PPE (personal protective equipment) supplies.
An application and more information about the Thrive Award can be found at www.rediinfo.com/thrive‐award. All nominations are due by 5 p.m. on April 15. The winner will be announced at the 10th annual “Made in Redmond” tour in June.
