Ridgeview moved to 2-0 against division opponents Sept. 29, while Redmond fell to 0-2 in the north of Class 5A Special District 2.

Ridgeview 54, Willamette 28

Ridgeview (2-3 overall) continued its rebound from an 0-3 start by running for 423 yards in a 54-28 home victory against Eugene Willamette. Kadden Brown narrowly led the Ravens with 159 rushing yards on 17 carries and a touchdown, while Griffin Dietz ran for 158 yards on 11 carries, including a touchdown. Dietz added three catches for 18 yards.

Josh Biever ran for three touchdowns on his seven carries for 34 yards, while Kevin Edmondson had two carries for 72 yards and a touchdown.

Quarterback Bryce DeMars completed 7-of-9 passes for 91 yards and two touchdowns, both of which went to former starting quarterback Payton Davis. Overall, Davis had three catches for 70 yards. Ryan Vogt had one catch for three yards.

The Ravens play at Springfield, which is 2-3 overall, at 7 p.m. Friday.

Thurston 35, Redmond 7

Redmond dropped to 1-4 overall with its 35-7 home loss against Springfield Thurston, which is now the only 2-0 team in division play other than Ridgeview.

With different starting quarterbacks for the third time this season, Redmond senior Kaden Nixon and freshman Hayden Parrish threw five passes in the game. Nixon went 1-for-2, with the Panthers’ only completion a 15-yard touchdown pass to Jack McKenzie. Parrish went 0-for-3 on the game.

Clayton Elrod led the Panthers on the ground, gaining 114 yards on 18 carries. Other runners included Brendan Powell, 13 runs for 57 yards, Colt Folston 10 rushes for 55 yards, Michael-Jai Callier Campbell, one carry for three yards and Henry Chambers, two runs for two yards.

Defensively, Gabe Caudell had eight tackles, McKenzie had seven tackles, Folston and Ethan Payne each had six tackles, Mason Nonato had five tackles and Chambers and Blaine Aamodt each had four tackles, with Aamodt adding an interception.

The Panthers will try to right the ship by heading to the coast, where they are scheduled to face 4-1 North Bend at 7 p.m. Friday.
