Redmond boys water polo reaches first state meet: Redmond High’s boys water polo team will play in its first state meet since they started five years ago at 8:40 p.m. Thursday against Hood River at the Osborn Aquatic Center in Corvallis. Coach Denise Maich said the Panthers beat Ridgeview 12-11 to take fourth place at a North 5A league qualifying tournament over the weekend. The top four teams in the league reach state for the club sport.

Central Christian players make all-league: With their first league tournament in several years, Central Christian’s volleyball team was well represented on the Class 1A Mountain Valley League’s all-league teams. Senior outside hitter/defensive specialist Lauren Rickabaugh was named first team all-league, while sophomore outside hitter Myka Delamarter was named second team and junior libero Megan Stafford was named to the third team.
