Redmond High is heading to the Class 5A football playoffs, while Ridgeview wrapped up its season with a 59-7 loss Nov. 1 against No. 1 Thurston.

The No. 14 Panthers (4-1 Class 5A Special District 2 North, 6-3 overall) face No. 3 West Albany in Redmond’s first playoff game since 2016, when the current seniors were freshmen. The Panthers wrapped up the regular season Nov. 1 with a 35-20 victory at Springfield.

Ridgeview (1-4, 2-7) saw its season end against Thurston, which had a 52-0 halftime lead. But the good news for the Ravens is they only had four players honored on senior night, so they will have plenty of top players back in 2020. Expected back as seniors next year are Josh Biever, who ran for 79 yards on 23 carries against Thurston and 1,119 yards on the season, and quarterback Bryce DeMars, who completed 10-of-30 passes for 64 yards against Thurston.

Cody Woods, one of the small group of seniors, had the Ravens’ lone touchdown against Thurston.
